Description

Palm Villa is a comfortable, well-appointed 2-bedroom beach house on Palm Island in the heart of the Grenadines. An ideal vacation spot for families, friends and couples alike, Palm Villa is a haven for people who enjoy peace and tranquillity, natural beauty, stunning seascapes, sailing, snorkelling, diving, beach combing, walking, birds, wildlife, photography and meeting like-minded people from around the world. Palm Island is a highly regarded, privately owned resort located in the Grenadines, a chain of small islands that dot the Caribbean Sea between St.Vincent and Grenada. Palm Villa is one of a handful of privately owned beach houses on the island and it enjoys a remarkable oceanfront location with truly stunning views of the neighbouring islands and a superb beach literally right on the doorstep. Surrounded by coconut trees, Palm Villa is a true beach house - modestly furnished but clean and well appointed for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation that can offer all the simple pleasures of classic tropical indoor-outdoor living. Elizabeth, a very popular Housekeeper, will help make your stay both easily managed and memorable. Assistance can be provided with boat transfers and pre-ordering food and other supplies. The islands of the Grenadines in general, and the area around Palm Island in particular, are truly, spectacularly beautiful - one of the world's few remaining natural treasures. Palm is a tiny island (you can walk around it in about 30 minutes) but it is blessed with a number of spectacular beachfronts and some of the most idyllic swimming conditions to be found anywhere. Despite its modest proportions Palm Island has some interesting walking trails and hilly lookout points. It also offers a Mangrove Lake, with a diverse range of birds and other wildlife, notably the outstanding Caribbean Iguanas that live freely here as they are protected by sanctuary status. Palm is a resort island with a limited number of guest cottages. Villa guests do not automatically qualify for general use of the resort facilities but upon request can be accommodated at the Beach Bar & Restaurant, the Spa Salon and the Boutique; as well as using the resort's boat for transferring to and from Union Island. Union, which is the nearest island to Palm (a gentle15 minute boat ride away) is also the location of the airport, with regular flights to and from Barbados. Union has a small market, a number of shops, bars and restaurants, a bank and other general services. The Mail Boat and other ferries regularly arrive in Union from St.Vincent and can provide a good means of procuring food and beverage supplies, ordered directly via telephone, fax or internet. Nearby islands that can be reached easily by boat and are worthy of a visit include Mayreau, the remarkable Tobago Cays, Canouan, Petit St. Vincent (PSV) and Petit Martinique. Slightly further afield but still accessible by boat are Bequia and Mustique northwards towards St.Vincent; and Carriacou to the south towards Grenada.
